With the efforts of Jammu tourism, Suchetgarh Border is becoming a tourist spot for locals as well as tourists visiting in Jammu & Kashmir. So if you are planning to Jammu & Kashmir then Suchetgarh Border must be on your list. Suchetgarh Border post is located at RS Pura which is 28 km away from Jammu city and is an international border share boundaries between India and Pakistan. If you are a tourist then Cab is easily available from the Railway station or from the Airport. From the Pakistan side, Sialkot is the nearest place in Pakistan. Before 1947 the year of Independence there was a railway station that connects with Sialkot and after Independence, this railway track was no longer in existence and the new railway line was constructed by Indian railways in 1972 connecting Jammu & Kashmir to rest of India via Pathankot in Punjab. Recently in December, I went on a solo trip from Jammu city to explore the Suchetgarh border which I will be sharing with you.
Here is my experience of exploring Suchetgarh Border:
I started my trip from Jammu city in my car at 12 PM. Driving car about 30 minutes I reach RS Pura where I took a small tea stop and then started driving a car about 10 minutes I reach Suchetgarh at 12:45 PM where firstly I saw Raghunath temple which was closed at that time since many of the temples are closed after 12 PM. Then I showed my ID proof to officials to enter the premises of Border area. After entering the premises of the border area I saw old buildings which remind me of the old railway station. There were many tourists waiting for the army official to open the gate than one of the army officials came and given us brief to maintain discipline and keep the surroundings clean and opened the gate of the border area.
The border area is beautifully maintained and mustard flowers surrounding the border area look beautiful. I felt goosebumps when I saw the Indian post which makes every nation proud. I also saw the post of Pakistan beyond the LOC. After a few minutes, I saw the citizens from the Pakistan side too who came to visit their border area I recommend you all to visit this place when you visit Jammu & Kashmir.
My best experience of exploring Suchetgarh Border
In the end, I hope you like my experience of exploring Suchetgarh Border.
