The distance of Shiv Khori is about 141km from Jammu, 120km from Udhampur, 80km from Katra. Shiv Khori is located in Ransoo Village in Pouni Block in Reasi District, where lakhs of devotees visit annualy.

Ways of reaching Shiv Khori: Devotees can reach upto Ransoo Village with the help of Buses and Taxis facilities available to them. After reaching Ransoo Village Devotees need to trek 3.5km by foot which is constructed by Shiv Khori Shrine Board. devotess who wants to come to Shiv Khori through Railways for them Nearest Railway Station – Jammu and also Helicopter Services are available from Katra which takes expected time 18-20 minutes. Shiv Khori is very well connected with Jammu & Katra through road.  Bus and Taxi services are also available for transportation from katra.

 Shiv Khori Cave: The word Shiv Khori have certain meaning in which “Khori means cave (Guffa) and  thus Shiv Khori  denotes as  Shiva’s cave”. This Cave is Natural Cave which is 200 meter long one metre wide and two to three metres high and contains a self made lingam. The entrance of this cave is very wide but it narrows to some extent towards the middle of the cave because there is a  fact about Cave that this Cave is  in the shape of Lord Shiva’s Damroo  which is wide at the two ends but  very congested at the center.

Different passage  inside the Shiv Khori cave:

The passage of inner cave to the outer is divided into 2 parts One of these route is now closed because it  is believed that this route is connected  to Kashmir where Amarnath Cave is located. To reach this Cave and to move out of the Cave, Devotees  has to stoop low, crawl or adjust his body sideward and here in this cave devotees will see 4feet  high naturally formed Shiv-lingam. The cave also having  a number of other natural objects which  having resemblance with Goddess Parvati, Ganesha and Nandigan.

Formation of Shiv Khori Cave:

The roof of the cave  is formed  with snake formations,  through which water tickles every time  on Shiva Lingam. Also you will see  Pigeons inside the Cave which you will also see in Amarnath Cave which presents good signs  for pilgrims. You will also see in inside the Cave the natural milky water dripping from the top to the Shiv-Ling symbolizing the Holy River Ganga. During Shivratri, this place host major Fair and in Shivratri more than thousands of devotees visit Shiv Khori and attend the Fair.
